1 x 75cl. 'Bassermann's 2021 Forster Ungeheuer Riesling GG' opens with a clear, deep nose with ripe, elegant fruit as well as fine smoke and herbal aromas. Delicate and refined in the mouth, yet juicy and elegant, with crystalline saltiness and good, compact length as well as some tension, this is an excellent 2021 Ungeheuer. The grapes were selectively harvested, with approximately 40% vinified in stainless steel tanks and about 60% in traditional large wooden barrels. The wine is made from a vineyard that derives its name from the former Diedesheim town clerk Johann Adam Ungeheuer, who died in 1699. The soil is a mix of sandy loam, sandstone rocks, and high concentration of iron, partly basalt. This wine is suitable for both men and women.
