Bassermann-Jordan 2021 Deidesheimer Hohenmorgen Riesling Grand Cru dry, 75cL, 13.0% ABV, 90 points by DecanterBy Winebuyers

£64.10

This complex Riesling Grand Cru has mouthwatering acidity and a long finish. On the nose, it is herbaceous and has fruit aromas of passion fruit, pineapple, and peach with a hint of smoke. The vineyards where these Riesling grapes were grown are situated in the western Deidesheim, a region known for its high-quality wine making. The Hohenmorgen vineyard, where the grapes were grown, is a south-facing slope with a total surface of 2.76 hectares, 2.09 hectares of which are owned by the Bassermann-Jordan estate. The high-quality soil is rich in loam and sandstone, and the vines are around 40 years old. The grapes were harvested in several stages and then gently pressed. Fermentation took place in traditional oak barrels. This Grand Cru Riesling pairs perfectly with white meat such as veal and shellfish. It has an alcohol content of 13.0% vol. and a residual sugar of 2.4 g/l, with an acidity level of 7.2. The bottle size is 75cl, making it suitable for a dinner party or special occasion. This wine is suitable for both men and women.
