The Allendorf 2021 Assmannshäuser Frankenthal Spätburgunder Premier Cru dry is a 75cl wine from the VDP.Erste Lage designated first-class sites in Germany. The site's 30-50 year old vines grow on quartzite and slate weathered soils, providing an ideal exposure for the excellent Spätburgunder. A steep and sunlit slope gives the Frankenthal a special identity, preserved by aging the wine exclusively in second and third use barriques. This unique minerality is not marked after 18 months in wooden barrels, resulting in a deep Spätburgunder with spiciness and minerality. The wine is best served at a temperature of 12-15 Celsius. This wine is suitable for both men and women.
