This wine is made from hand-selected grapes harvested from a vineyard located on the western brim of the town of Deidesheim, in the centre of the Palatinate wine growing area. The vineyard's east, south-east exposition guarantees a lot of direct sun influence from the early morning to the late afternoon. The soil is a mix of sandy and clay soils with several in-layers of limestone, which offers a lot of minerality to the vines.
