Nagai Sake Kijoshu Sake, 75cL, 16% ABV, Japanese White WineBy Winebuyers

£63

This sake is brewed in the kijoshu style, which replaces some of the water used in the sake making process with additional sake. It has also undergone five years of cold ageing. The result is a rich flavour of concentrated umami and sweetness, reminiscent of muskmelon. The sweet aromas of condensed milk, baked apple pie and honey are noticeable. Richly sweet on the palate, with flavours of marron glace and ripe melon puree. It pairs well with dark chocolate, chestnut pies, cheese, foie gras, and ice-cream. Serve well chilled (4-8 °C) and store in a dry and cool place, avoiding direct sunlight. Made by Nagai Sake / Nagai Shuzo in Gunma prefecture, this sake is a 75cL bottle with an ABV of 16% and brewed with Yamadanishiki rice.
