This 2022 Röttgen Riesling Spätlese is a remarkably pure wine, with a flourish of silver trumpets shining off the ripe curvature of fruit. The acidity is balanced by the precision engineering of flavour and sweetness, delivering a wine that barely tastes sweet at all. It's a dense, concentrated, and fine Spätlese, produced from the late harvest of 50-60 year old vines in the Röttgen VDP.GROSSE LAGE (Grand Cru) classified vineyard. The south-facing vineyard is steep and terraced, with soil rich in iron and slate. The grapes were grown sustainably and carefully harvested by hand, then fermented using natural methods.
