ABOUT THE WINE. Founded in 1958 by Domenico Fraccaroli in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, the family winery has grown into a multi-generational legacy of quality Italian winemaking. In 2002, his son Tiziano expanded into Verona’s Lavagno area, acquiring the Grotta del Ninfeo estate to craft expressive Valpolicella wines. Now in the hands of the third generation, Domenico and Luca Fraccaroli, the estate continues to honour its traditions while showcasing the freshness, elegance and charm of Valpolicella. The 2024 vintage reflects a balanced growing season, yielding fruit of exceptional purity and vibrancy.. TASTING NOTES. The 2024 vintage opens with bright aromas of ripe red cherries, wild strawberries and blackcurrant, accented by delicate floral tones and a whisper of fresh herbs. On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied, with lively acidity and supple tannins framing a core of juicy red fruit. A touch of spice lingers on the smooth, refreshing finish.. FOOD PAIRING. Perfect with prosciutto and melon, duck and porcini mushroom pappardelle, or a black truffle risotto. Also pairs beautifully with grilled vegetables and lighter meat dishes.. FRIARWOOD SAYS. Valpolicella’s elegance makes it a versatile and food-friendly red. The 2024 Grotta del Ninfeo is fresh, bright and approachable – a wine that can even be enjoyed slightly chilled for a lively summer pairing.
