Becker 2016 Kammerberg Spätburgunder Grand Cru dry is a 75cl wine. This wine is from a south-located vineyard near Weissenburg, named after a former monastery outpost. The soil is based on a large limestone rock with a low circulation of clayey loamy top soil. The grapes were carefully hand selected, de-stemmed, and separately fermented on the skins. After two to three weeks fermentation in open oak vats, the wine was gently pressed. The next maturation was for 18 months in small oak barrels, with no filtration or fining. The wine has a deep ruby red color, with aromas of wild berries, tobacco, black tea, and liquorice. It has a dense, powerful, and juicy palate with a very good length and excellent structure, and great ageing potential. This wine is suitable for both men and women.
