Designed for use with a Weymouth bit on a double bridle. The bradoon is slightly thinner and lighter than a normal snaffle to leave room in the mouth for two bits. Works in the same way as a snaffle, exerting pressure on the lips, tongue and bars of the mouth. Most bradoon bits have loose rings, to allow the increased sensitivity needed for higher-level training.
