Buena Mulata' is a rare heirloom chilli that’s exclusive to the UK! You’ll love this colour-changing chilli, which boasts a remarkable chameleon-like transition. The slender, 8-10cm long fruit starts as a beautiful violet hue, morphing to dusky peach before maturing to red. A stunning ornamental plant as well as a versatile culinary pepper, the fruits can be used at any stage. Fruits are mild and sweet when purple and, when in their mature to deep red, they develop a sweet, cayenne-like heat but with a fruitier punch, registering 30,000 to 50,000 on the Scoville Scale. A highly productive plant for a sunny patio, conservatory or greenhouse, which looks wonderful when packed with pods in their various colour stages. Height: up to 60cm-90cm. Spread: up to 60-70cm. Chilli peppers may be grown undercover in a greenhouse or polytunnel or grown outdoors in a sheltered position in full sun. Pot up young plants and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions. When growing chilli peppers outdoors, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days prior to transplanting them.
