Its compact growth and first-year harvests, making it a delightful choice for patio pots or containers. You'll find it easy to grow and rewarding, as the dwarf plants reach just 45cm tall and deliver delicious berries all summer long, perfect for picking and eating straight from the plant. With simple care, including sunny positioning and regular watering, ‘Yummy’ promises a fruitful addition to your outdoor space, whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out. How to grow: When growing summer Raspberry plants make sure they are in a sunny position in any well-drained soil. Make sure before you plant you prepare a framework of wires which stretch horizontally between two sturdy 1.8m posts. If you are growing your Raspberries in containers, support their tall stems on a wigwam of canes. Make sure you plant the raspberry canes against their supports roughly allowing a distance of 60cm between plants. You should prune your canes straight away after planting to 15cm (6") above ground level to encourage more shoots to be produced. Make sure you water your summer fruiting raspberries well for the first year until the plants are fully established. Tie stems to the support wires as they grow. To protect the berries from birds place a net over the plants. When some of the cranes have fruited prune them down to ground level canes which have not fruited should be tied to their supports. Look to have six to eight fruiting canes per plant. To help retain moisture throughout the summer please apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost.
