Start your journey to a flourishing garden with the Thompson and Morgan Pepper Chilli Havana Gold Seeds. It is an attractive variety that produces long, golden-orange chillies boasting a mild heat and the distinctive habanero flavour. With thin skins and a delightful aromatic taste, these chillies are excellent when eaten raw or thinly sliced as a garnish for spicy dishes. Havana Gold ripens early in the season, offering high yields on sturdy, well-branched bushy plants. Surplus chillies can be preserved by drying or freezing for later use. The plant grows to a height of 70cm and a spread of 50cm. To cultivate the seeds, sow them on the surface of a good, free-draining, damp seed sowing mix and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place the seed trays in a propagator at a temperature of 18 to 25°C until germination occurs, which takes about 7 to 10 days. Light should not be excluded, as it aids germination. When seedlings are sufficiently large to handle, transplant them into individual 7.5cm pots of compost and grow in cooler conditions. Once the plants are robust and all risk of frost has passed, transplant them into grow bags, containers, or well-prepared beds of fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Chilli peppers can be grown undercover in a greenhouse or polytunnel or outdoors in a sheltered position with full sun exposure. Gradually acclimatise outdoor plants to external conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting them. Space pepper plants 50cm apart. Product specifications: Position: Full Sun.
