Direct sow parsley seeds outdoors from March to July. Plants flourish in a well-prepared seedbed under full sun or partial shade. Seeds should be sown thinly at a depth of 1cm (half an inch) in drills spaced 30cm apart. Note that parsley seeds have a slow germination rate, taking up to 28 days, especially in wet, cold soil. Alternatively, seeds can be sown indoors or in a glasshouse from August to February to ensure fresh leaves throughout the year. Use 7.5cm (3 inch) pots filled with free-draining seed compost while maintaining a temperature of eighteen to 21°C until germination occurs. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 23cm (9 inches) apart. Gradually acclimate parsley plants to outdoor conditions over a period of seven to ten days before transplanting them outside after the threat of frost has passed. This variety prefers sun or semi-shade, achieving a height and spread of up to 35cm (13.8 inches) when fully established. Each packet contains 500 parsley seeds.
