Colony 7 which is led by the benevolent and world-weary Briggs (Fishburne) receives a distress call from the nearby Colony 5 and Briggs recruits a team to traverse the frozen landscape and help their fellow survivors. However when they arrive they realise that the distress call is part of a much bigger problem when they find that Colony 5 is under attack from a group of crazed cannibals who have turned against their kin in the hope of surviving the seemingly perpetual winter...
