The Shure A15AS Attenuator has been developed to reduce the level of any balanced microphone or line-level signal by 15 20 or 25dB via a three-position slide switch. The attenutator essentially stops a high-output microphone from overloading the input of a mixer or recorder with high sound pressure levels. On the input side of the A15AS features a female 3-pin XLR connector and a male 3-pin XLR connector on the output side. With phantom power passing through the mixer to the microphone the attenuator can also be used in cooperation with condenser microphones.
