This is especially relevant to heaters that are suspended on chains and wires. The heater must be mounted in a well ventilated area. There must be at least a 0.4m clearing between the heater and ceilings / roofs There must be at least a 0.5m clearing between the heater and adjacent walls / fabrics There must be at least a 1.8m clearing between the bottom edge of the heater and the floor When using a 3kW heater in commercial premises or other locations where the heaters are used continuously for long periods of time then it is advisable to consult an electrician. A 3kW heater used for long periods of time may need to be hard wired into a 20A fused spur rather than used in a standard 13A socket.
