The Sela 20" Chau Gong Mantra is a traditional handmade gong for meditation sound therapy and musical performance. Crafted from a special bronze alloy it produces deep fundamental tones with a rich spectrum of overtones that linger long after each strike. It also responds clearly to changes in playing technique and dynamics giving you plenty of control over its character and expression.Its Mantra design features a dark low-gloss finish with concentric engravings of the Tibetan Buddhist mantra Om Mani Padme Hum surrounding a central Om symbol. The engraved bronze surface creates subtle highlights while also contributing to the gongs overtone response maintaining a warm sustained sound. A velvet-covered mallet with a maple handle is included for balanced playing while the supplied black carrying bag makes transporting and storing the gong simple between sessions.
