The cask has had a big influence on the new make spirit imparting the classic PX flavours of dried fruit (figs and dates), with a hint of leather/tobacco, nuttiness and a sweetness from the sherry. All layered over the top of the smooth and creamy new make spirit which can still be tasted behind the sherry influence.
