2002s HEATHEN was the first album Bowie and Tony Visconti had worked on together in twentytwo years. Recorded in a residential studio in upstate New York, it was the first Bowie album of thenew millennium that represented a commercial resurgence and return to his Art Rock sound of the1970s. Guest guitarists on the album included Pete Townshend, Dave Grohl and longtimecollaborator Carlos Alomar.
