StubbornGerardo & Paola Massero IacoucciDescription: The album that marks a new stage in the long and intense collaboration between the pianist-composer-arranger Gerardo Iacoucci and the singer-songwriter-performer Paola Massero is entitled Stubborn. The album features nine original songs with seven lyrics in English and one in French. Masseros contribution is fundamental because the word has a notable centrality in Stubborn. Iacoucci in fact renounces solo interventions and focuses on the composition and the elements of the arrangement placing the phrasing and harmonies of jazz in them. The ensemble is completed by the fluid and pulsating double bass of Stefano Cantarano and the swinging and Latin drums of Ascolese with the addition of a string quintet that is used in a structural way.
