Filey Bay Double Oak Batch 2 is matured in a combination of virgin oak (adding fruit and spice) and bourbon casks (vanilla and toffee). It's packed with flavours of sweet dried fruit, creamy vanilla malt, and sweet cinnamon spice flavours. The previous bottling (Double Oak Batch 1) was awarded a coveted World Whisky Master in 2022 - the team have built on this success and produced a limited run of 2000 bottles of Batch 2. The virgin oak brings fruity and spicy notes, whilst the ex-bourbon casks balance this with vanilla and toffee flavours. The selection process meant sampling across a range of 100 first-fill ex-bourbon casks. A number of these were then transferred into Virgin Oak casks, and regularly nosed and tasted for 13 months to find the perfect balance.
