FIIO K17 R2R DAC ARCHITECTURE At the core of the K17 R2R is a proprietary 5 + 24-bit resistor ladder (R2R) DAC design. This architecture is intended to deliver a more analogue-style presentation, with support for both NOS (non-oversampling) and OS (oversampling) modes. Users can switch between these modes depending on preference and source material. AMPLIFICATION AND POWER OUTPUT The unit incorporates a discrete Class AB headphone amplifier stage with a quoted output of 4000mW per channel. This level of power is designed to accommodate a wide range of headphones, from in-ear monitors to more demanding planar designs, while maintaining control and dynamic range. CONNECTIVITY AND STREAMING As a combined DAC and streamer, the K17 R2R supports local playback alongside wireless and wired streaming. Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Gigabit Ethernet and QPlay support for compatible devices, enabling network-based audio playback within a home setup. Settings can be configured via the FiiO Control app or through a web browser, with profiles stored directly on the device DESIGN AND FEATURES Additional features include a USB ground loop isolator aimed at reducing noise when connected to digital sources and a 35W low-noise linear power supply. The front panel is dominated by a 3.93-inch touchscreen providing access to playback controls, settings and visual displays such as VU meters. An aluminium infrared remote control is also supplied.
