1 x 75cl. The producer, Clos de Tart, is a historic estate in Burgundy that has remained undivided for several centuries. Originally owned from 1141, it was named after the Cistercian order of nuns of the Abbaye de Tart, who ran the clos until the French Revolution. The estate has passed through several families, including the Marey-Monge and Mommessin families, before being acquired by the Pinault family of Artemis Domaines in the 1990s. This family also owns properties such as Chateau Latour in Bordeaux and Chateau Grillet. The estate is the largest Grand Cru monopole in Burgundy, with 7.53ha of vineyard. For several centuries the estate has remained undivided with winemaking and ageing facilities on site. The wines of Clos de Tart have a long history of excellence, and the estate's reputation was developed through the nineteenth century. Work on vineyard mapping and viticulture combined with new winemaking equipment brought the wines of Clos de Tart back to the pinnacle of wines from this commune. This wine is a red wine, suitable for both men and women.
