A very special Archive edit, our Chequers Swim Robe is a fresh take on one of our most special period pieces. Its story begins in the 1920s when Christy made history with the first towelling swim robe, almost 100 years before the ubiquitous wild swimming robes we see today and inspired by a growing social trend for swimming in the sea. The robes were developed to help protect women's modesty on the beach and provide protective warmth. Today's Chequers Swim Robe has been designed in honour of the original, with the same nostalgic geometrics, colourways, and features. From the wide shawl collar with a tie to cinch just above the shoulders to the longer length, this is a supremely cosy and comfortable beach wrap. Velour on one side and skin-drying terry on the other, the comforting 550 GSM will allow for slow, meditative moments even on the British coast.
