Chateau La Rose Figeac Pomerol 2018 Red Wine, 75cL, France, Merlot DominatedBy Winebuyers

£44.95

Chateau La Rose Figeac is a rich and plump Merlot-dominated wine from the Pomerol region of Bordeaux. It has lovely earthy aromas, tobacco smoke and liquorice wrapped round a beautiful structure, brimming with ripe dark cherry and plum fruit. There is great concentration on the palate with minty notes coming through. It is a delightful wine and one that can be enjoyed now. The estate was created in 1961 by Nathalie's grandfather, Louis Rapin, who also owned Chateau La Tour Figeac. He purchased a few vineyards from his neighbour and created the new Chateau La Rose Figeac. Like many Pomerol estates, it is small, with 4 hectares made up of nine plots on gravelly sands, which brings amazing aromatics to the wines. Farming has been organically certified since 2009 and the vineyards are made up of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
