Ch. Rieussec, a 1st Growth Premier Cru Classe from Sauternes, is a half bottle of white wine. The property sits at one of the highest points of the plateau, as you might expect for a site that was once a convent. The 75 hectares of vineyards are planted to 85% Semillon, 13% Sauvignon Blanc, and 2% Muscadelle. Rieussec has been part of the Domaines Barons de Rothschild portfolio since 1985, allowing for the development of a rich and luscious Sauternes with amazing freshness and balance. The wine is sourced from vineyards at 79 meters of elevation, just below those of d'Yquem. The blend varies with vintage conditions but usually comprises a minimum of 90-95% Semillon, complemented with small amounts of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. This wine is suitable for both men and women.
