Our new favourite Rose, Les Prunes, is a bone dry, fresh and delicate wine. It's all about bright red fruit like strawberry, cranberry, a touch of peach and a gentle spritz that makes it extra refreshing. Serve it chilled with grilled prawns, tomato salads, tapas, or even a plate of salty Jamón Ibérico. The grapes are grown in the rolling hills of Moixent in Valencia, eastern Spain, where old Mandó vines thrive on poor, chalky soils, coaxing out delicate fruit character and a distinctly mineral edge. The wine is 100% Mandó, fermented naturally and aged for six months in buried clay amphora. This rosado is a love letter to Mandó, crafted by Pablo Calatayud, the owner and winemaker of Celler del Roure, who has made it his mission to revive indigenous grape varieties and bring old-school Valencian craftsmanship back to life.
